Featured Piece - May 2009 (posted 4/28/09)

This month's Featured Piece is actually three pieces.  These pieces are three small bowls showing variations in the use of Douglas fir.  They will be in the upcoming show and catalog for Small Treasures 2009 at the del Mano Gallery.  Inquiries as to availability can be made directly to that gallery.

  Untitled Vessel (2009)

 3 5/8
inches height by 4 ½ inches length
Douglas fir, pigment: turned, sandblasted

The exquisite texture in this piece contrasting the polished surface of the bands -- that show just a hint of red -- give this piece a wonderful contemplative quality.
